Dreez leading march for justice for Oscar Grant.

ONE FAM is a leadership development program that utilizes art, culture and technology to educate and inspire young people to live positive healthy lifestyles and challenge the negative stereotypes of S.F. Bay Area youth by becoming civic leaders in their communities.

We use a popular education model that allows youth of varying levels of literacy and education to engage in our training's and workshops on life management, anger management, non-violence/de-escalation techniques and multi-media. We believe that young people have the ability to grow and become productive members of their community with guidance, direction and education.

ONE FAM also services the greater community of adult allies and service providers by providing them with training on popular education and youth development as well as engaging adults in conversation that will continue to challenge the public discourse on Bay Area youth, the juvenile justice system and community. Our training’s are interactive and can be tailored to service both large and small groups. We provide training for 1.5 hrs to full-day training.

Know Your Rights

Because of stricter laws, increased contact with law enforcement, and negative social stigmas attached to youth its important that young people be well informed of their civil rights. Know your rights workshop covers basic civil rights. Learning through role-plays and scenarios.

Juvenile Justice History

Designed for participants to sort out the system’s historical twist and turns, personally interpret them and to walk away with a deep personal understanding of where the system has been and how it got to where it is today.

Armed with a thorough understanding of how institutions, policies and practices have developed, participants are more equipped to deal with the challenges that come with the long-term fight for a fair juvenile justice system.

Help Increase the Peace

Dynamic, interactive and engaging. Based on dialogue and active learning participants build skills for responding to conflicts without violence, analyze the impact of societal injustice on their lives and the lives of others, and work on taking action for positive, nonviolent personal and social change.
